We talk about how a kid from small town Saskatchewan was able to fight in the legendary UFC octagon, his career and what it entailed, and eventual retirement. Mitch also talks making the transition to professional wrestling, some matches that really stand out to him, dealing with negativity from the internet, and so much more!

Moses is making his return to Winnipeg wrestling for WPW this upcoming Friday, as a part of the tag team Technical Difficulties. We chat about what it was like challenging for the title, amateur wrestling, being a part of and learning from Team Ambition, and the St Louis scene as a whole.

A man synonymous with independent wrestling here in Winnipeg, and all through Canada. Danny has had a very storied career so far, and he stops by to share stories from through out. His experiences getting started, how the wrestling landscape has changed, how CWE was formed, struggles with running Canadian tours and more.

 

We also talk about his time wrestling in Japan, how that came to be, and also what could have been with CWE and ROH!! Check it out!

Hot off of this past weekends AEW Full Gear, I sit down to review it with one of my favourites, Bryce Bentley!

 

We talk the highs and lows of the stacked card. What stood out to us, and what we weren't huge fans of. There were quite a few really enjoyable matches, we dive into them and we even do a little bit of fantasy booking through out when it comes to ROH!

A veteran of 15+ years, Cat Power has been a prominent figure on the independent wrestling scene. Trained by Scott D'Amore, Cat shares stories from her very start in wrestling, getting into it, and training. We also hear about her time wrestling for Shimmer, how that helped her career, and also about her 4 trips to Japan to wrestle and what that experience was like.

 

Cat also talks about being a coach and trainer for Lions Gate Dojo, the incredible BC wrestling scene and so much more!

Episode 97 - Andrew Love

The Grainmaker Wrestling Podcast goes east!!

 

This week we are heading to the Maritimes, and we will be talking to Andrew Love! Andrew has been ripping it up out on the East Coast, bouncing back and forth between the east, and Ontario.

The author of "Uncontrolled Chaos", and nearly 30 year veteran, Vance Nevada joins me this week on the Grainmaker Wrestling Podcast.

 

Vance talks about the book, the work that has gone into it, and what readers can expect when they pick up a copy. He also shares stories of his career, from growing up in Souris, Manitoba, to the early years in Winnipeg wrestling for him with RCW, Top Rope Championship Wrestling and more.

 

We also hear about some of the tours he has been a part of, stretching from the east coast, down to the south, and his experiences along the way. An absolutely incredible conversation!

Episode 95 - Halloween Havoc 1998

It's review time, and this go round, we're gonna rewind to Halloween Havoc 1998.

 

Halloween Havoc 1998, most notable for the rematch between Hollywood Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior. An absolute disaster of a match, and quite possibly one of the worst ones I have ever seen. It was also the PPV that had an over run and cut out its feed before the main event happened!

 

I go back and take a look at the PPV. All of the good and the bad. It was an enjoyable watch, and definitely had some "WCW" moments in it.

Episode 94 - 3Pac

For the first time ever, the Grainmaker Wrestling Podcast is joined by 3 incredible guests!

 

Recorded backstage of Rob Stardoms show to benefit the Selkirk food bank, which also doubled as La Sombras retirement match, I was joined by one half of Red Hot Summer Bryce Bentley, and Josh "Cheeks" Holiday to talk wrestling and what they've been up too! Bryce shares some stories, including his one of his first shows as a fan, and Cheeks talks his recent match with Impact World Champion Josh Alexander. I was also joined by La Sombra, who talks about getting into wrestling, and what the retirement match means to him.

 

Before that, I talk a little about the Timebomb Pro "Violence is Forever" show, shout out Tom Lawlor. It was an incredible show and is a must watch as soon as it hits IWTV.
